Ball valves BV..HC series

The ball valves are classified as “Pressure accessories” in the sense of the PED Directive 2014/68/EU, Article 2, paragraph 5 and are subject of Article 4, paragraph 1, letter (c), of the same Directive. All the product range is suitable for use with hydrocarbon refrigerants R290 (Propane), R600 (Butane) and  R600a (Isobutane) proper to the Group 1, as defined in Article 13, paragraph 1, letter (a), of PED Directive 2014/68/EU and classified as A3 Group of Annex E of standard EN 378-1.

Costruction

The body and the chrome-plated sphere are manufactured in hot-forged brass EN 12420 – CW617N and the solder connections are in copper tube EN 12735-1 – Cu-DHP. The TIG welding of the body and the HNBR O-ring assembled on the spindle, assure the perfect seal of the valves, while the special modified PTFE gaskets around the ball, ensure low working torque. The design of ball valves permits the bi-directional flow of the refrigerant, the equilibrium of internal pressures when the valve is closed and prevents any risk of ejection of galvanized steel spindle. The groove is made of stainless steel.

Installation

The brazing of the valves to the system shall be done with a low melting point alloy. During this process do not point the flame directly toward the body of the ball valve, to avoid compromising the sealing gaskets.
